Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and will close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home that has a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic income will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to study in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish nsfas 2025 to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
